After a long and rewarding career as an IT executive, Kim Box decided she was ready for a change. She had the desire to share her passion about leadership focused on diversity and authenticity. She left her corporate career and embarked on writing Woven Leadership with the intention to inspire both aspiring and experienced leaders to look at diversity as a competitive imperative.

She wrote the book, Woven Leadership, to fulfill this goal and is now speaking at events and forums.

Kim Box is CEO of a start-up venture and a former HP Vice President with extensive experience in the IT industry. Over her 29 year career she has worked in IT outsourcing services, customer support of product services and internal IT services where she has led an organization with close to $1B in operating budget in over 100 locations around the world. Ms. Box has led large scale transformations of global operations resulting in up to 40% reduction in operating cost along with increases in client satisfaction. She is known for her strong skills in strategic decision making, partner/relationship building, results driven leadership, high integrity and leading transformation with proven successful execution.
Ms. Box led the consolidation of the HP and COMPAQ Americas Enterprise Support operation streamlining processes, technology and organizations. She has led many transformation initiatives as an operations executive while at HP. Ms. Box led the transformation of HP’s global commercial product support operation resulting in over $100m in operating budget reduction while maintaining client satisfaction. Ms. Box has a highly regarded reputation for building relations across countries around the world to accomplish complex operational goals.
Ms. Box is on the Board of Directors for American River Bankshares and American River Bank, community business banking serving Northern California. She is the Chair of the Advisory Board for Wijit, Inc. the innovative company of a unique lever driving and braking mechanism for wheelchairs. Ms. Box is the Founder and President of the social enterprise company She is the Founder and Executive Director of Pathway to Prevention where she led the production of the Emmy winning film Collision Course –Teen Addiction Epidemic. She is the author of Woven Leadership – The Power of Diversity to Transform your Organization for Success. She is a dynamic international keynote speaker about leadership, diversity, and transformation.
Ms. Box has served on several not for profit Board of Directors. She currently serves as the Chair of the American Red Cross-Capital Region Chapter. She is a Senior Fellow and serves on the board of the American Leadership Forum – Mountain Valley Chapter. During her tenure on The Effort Board of Directors she served as Chair and led the merger of two non-profits in order to gain efficiencies and increase services.
Ms. Box was the recipient of the New Media Women Entrepreneur award in 2010. She has been recognized by the Freedoms Foundation with a certificate of merit in the national awards program for her work with prevention and awareness of youth substance abuse.
Ms. Box holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Management and a minor in Computer Science from California State University, Chico. She has attended the Executive Development Program at the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. She has attended University of Michigan Leaders Developing Leaders program. Ms. Box has been a guest lecturer at the University of California, Davis MBA school.
